Jesus: What The Qur'an Says
What The Qur'an
also says about:
[The following are but a few of the many prominent passages concerning the Prophet Jesus.]

"We caused Jesus son of Mary to follow in their footsteps, fulfilling that which was revealed before him in the Torah."
- Chapter 5, Verse 47

"Call to mind when the Angels said to Mary: Allah, through his word, gives thee glad tidings of a son named the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honoured in this world and the next, and of those who are granted nearness to Allah. He shall admonish people in his early years and also in his ripe years, and he shall be of the righteous. Mary said: Lord, how shall I have a son, when no man has touched me? He answered: Such is the power of Allah, He creates what He pleases... He will teach him the Book and the Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel and will make him a Messenger to the children of Israel, bearing the message: I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord...."
- Chapter 3, Verses 46-52

"Jesus taught: I am a servant of Allah, He has given me the Book, and has appointed me a Prophet; He has made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and has enjoined upon me Prayer and almsgiving throughout my life. He has made me dutiful towards my mother, and has not made me haughty and graceless. Peace was ordained for me the day I was born, the day I shall die and the day I shall be raised up to life again."
- Chapter 19, Verses 31-4

"Jesus taught: Allah is my Lord; so worship Him alone. This is the right path."
- Chapter 19, Verse 37

"Then, because of their... uttering against Mary a grievous calumny; and their saying: We did kill the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah; whereas they slew him not, nor did they compass his death upon the cross, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified to death; and those who have differed in the matter of his having been taken down alive from the cross are certainly in a state of doubt concerning it, they have no definite knowledge about it, but only follow a conjecture; they certainly did not compass his death in the manner they allege; indeed, Allah exalted him to Himself; Allah is Mighty, Wise, and there is none among the People of the Book but will continue to believe till his death that Jesus died on the cross, and on the Day of Judgement Jesus shall bear witness against them; and their taking interest, though they had been forbidden it...."
- Chapter 4, Verses 156-162

"They are indeed disbelievers who say: Allah is the Messiah son of Mary."
- Chapter 5, Verse 18
