Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Neuropsychology
I study recovery of function after traumatic brain injury and am seeking new ways to assess recovery from cognitive losses after brain injury. I continue to be interested in hippocampal mechanisms of memory and spatial cognition, and my primary research effort uses virtual environments to study gender differences in spatial navigation and deficits after traumatic brain injury. I am working with a social psychologist, Dr. Frederick Grouzet, to develop more comprehensive ways of assessing outcome after brain injury and the efficacy of rehabilitation efforts on everyday functioning and psychological well-being.
