Objectives (Tactical Concept): Moving into space, communicating, staying on toes in a ready position, defensive stance, quick changes of direction, and movement off the ball. Cognitive- Easy to do, simple explanation, and a number of progressions. Affective- Motivating and
positive attitude building because of slowly incorporated goals,
instructions and difficulty. Psychomotor- Copy the example,
but refine to own level and abilities. Social- Interacting with other students in a fun and interactive environment. |
Warm Up Activity: Throw and Catch- Get into partners of equal ability, label selves A and B. A get a bean bag and B get a space on the basketball court. Simply toss and catch at a walk. Remember to keep your head up, play into open space and stay on your toes. Activity: Shadow Game- Get into different partners, number selves 1 & 2. Using court lines play a shadow game running only on the lines with a leader and a chaser or follower. Keep head up and watch for other groups. Remember quick direction changes. |
How did the lesson go notes: - Spacing was good. - Good partner drills (social). - Everyone able to move at their own pace. - Little equip. needed. - Utilized appropriate space for sport. - Class performed on cue. - Having fun. |
Board Stuff for intro. to class and rules / cues for warm-up
activities: - Must be inside the basketball court for warm up. - Pass and catch at a walk then increase to a jog. - Keep head up to see people and space. - Communicate with partner. - Stay on your toes. - Verbal instruction because simple and quick, with slow progressions. - “any questions” - “Go” - “and stop” Shadow Game- Using any lines of courts navigate with partner - Begin cooperatively trying to cover all lines - End Competitively try to lose partner |
Equipment: -22 bean bags. -2 Courts |
Teaching Points: 1)-Head-up -Talk to partner -Stay on toes 2)Stay low and on toes. -Watch the bean bag. -Move quickly and get square to your opponent to receive and hit. 3) Head up -watch where other groups are going -Plan in advance which lines you want to take 4)Quick direction changes -Head fakes -Stay low -Watch where other people are -Back straight for defensive slide -Knees bent -Weight on balls of feet -Lead foot pointing in direction of travel 5)Leader- Use fakes -Quick direction changes -Strategy to use other class members as blockers Chaser- Use shortcuts to head off leader -Anticipate where leader is running to -Try to trap leader into running on “dead end” lines |
Lesson Development: 1) Throw and Catch- In same partner
increase intensity to a jog. - If you run into another
individual, the pair must do 5 jumping jacks. - Progress to a run if comfortable
with the jog. 2) Keep up- In same group, quickly
move to a badminton quadrant and play keep up using the bean bag and any
part of your body. -Now progress into a game, where
the pairs make up their own rules on how to score and restart using the
previous drill. - From this, each pair could make
the game harder or easier to score by altering their own
rules. 3) Shadow Game
(cooperative)-Walking in pairs with one partner leading. Only allowed to walk on
lines. -Try to walk as many lines of the
court as possible without running into other
groups. - If you run into another pair then the other partner
lead 4) Shadow Game (competitive)- In pairs have one partner trying to escape or lose the other partner while running on lines of two basketball courts. -Partner must follow the same
lines. -If lead runner runs into other
group then the follower becomes the leader. -Add defensive slides, crossovers
to add variety. 5) Shadow Game (to win)- One partner is given “three steamboats” to have a lead before the chaser can follow. -If chaser tags partner then they are awarded a point and they switch roles. -If one partner is continually getting caught then increase the amount of time they have for a head start.____________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ |
