This lesson will take place in the school gym
as an introduction, to ensure that everyone comes prepared with proper
footwear and own equipment if they have it. This way we could utilize
court time with more activities.

The major teaching pts are the same for both the backhand and forehand drives (straight) The only difference with the cross-court is the body position. The hips and shoulder are no longer sideways to the ball, the body is more open to the front wall |

is cocked, body is in a closed stance, hips and shoulders sideways to the
oncoming ball
-Action to contact, weight transfer to front foot, shoulder and elbow move the racquet face down and forward toward the oncoming ball -Contact Point, racquet face moves horizontally and makes contact with the ball, contact point is front shoulder -Follow-Through, racquet face continues to the front wall and is released |
