Floating Drill

This drill helps the top man learn to maintain contact with the bottom man as he attempts to scramble away. The top man mounts the bottom man, chest to lower back, with elbows hooked around his waist. There should be little weight on the feet. The bottom man may shake, squirm, or crawl to try and dislodge the top man. The down man must maintain contact with the mat during his movements.

Break the pin

The top man applies a 1/2 nelson pin. The bottom man attempts to get to his stomach or reverse the top man within 10 seconds.
