• This will ensure that there is enough acceptable equipment for the lesson

                Have equipment and cones set up ahead of time

• This will save a lot of time for the organization and set up of a lesson and maximize student engagement time

    Hold a quick and effective pre class meeting which includes attendance and a brief preview of the lesson

• A preview will help the students catch on to the drills later on when they are properly introduced

    If that days lesson requires groups or teams have them pre-maid.

• This will ensure that the groups or teams are fair and made up to maximize student learning (ie. split up students who like to talk to each other and are a disturbance in the class during a lesson)

   When explaining drills or speaking to the class as a group, have them all in a tight group directly in front of you.

• This will make it easier for all of the students to hear what you are saying and you will be able to make sure all students are paying full attention

   When progressing to another new drill try and keep the numbers the same if possible

• This will cause less confusion and organizational problems if there is as little regrouping as possible, therefore maximizing student engagement time

   Use demonstration to explain a drill whenever possible

• If possible use students to demonstrate.  Student demos will motivate other students because their peers are able to perform drills.

   Call in the whole group as little as possible

• Explain how drills progress ahead of time.  This will again maximize student engagement time

   Give a maximum of three teaching points or cues at once

• Too many cues will cause student confusion and less production and actual learning
