Organizational Strategies
Organizational strategies include
devices and habits that save time. Some of these strategies include: (a)
Lesson Plans, (b) Spacing plans, (c) Equipment plans, and (d) Given Tasks.
a) Lesson Plans: Common
Lesson Plan Layout
-
Give structure to each individual class.
-
Allows quick access to a specific portion of the
lesson.
-
Brings all the components of the lesson down on paper.
Note: (b),(c), and (d) may all be a part of the
lesson plan.
b) Spacing Plans:
-
The space available must be utilized in such a way
that injury will not occur and equal spacing among students takes place.
-
Objects such as cones and court lines can be used
to make sure that spacing works efficiently (spacing
example)
c) Equipment Plans:
-
Lessons will run smoother when the list and amount
of equipment is specified for certain times within a lesson.
-
Will allow teachers to prepare everything needed
before class.
-
Can be given to students easily so that they can
retrieve specific equipment.
-
Typical equipment plans are simplistic lists. (sample
basketball equipment plan)
d) Given Tasks: For lesson smoothness students
can be given tasks such as:
-
Taking attendance
-
Retrieving equipment
-
Putting away equipment
-
Setting up space with cones
-
Officiating
