Partner Passing
Game/Task Outline


Tactical Problem: Maintaining possession of the ball.
Skill development: Passing balls on the ground with the inside and outside of foot. (Both feet).

Teaching Points:
  • Understand the technique involved in an effective pass to teammate.
  • Start with the instep of the foot.
  • Using Accurate and firm short passes.
  • Extend the drill by using non dominant foot, and increase distance between partners.
  • Face the direction you are passing.
  • Non kicking foot planted next to the ball.


 


 
 
With succession, students may increase their distance and speed.

 

 

Organizational Points: 
  • Teacher uses demo to explain proper technique for passing. (i.e. foot position, body possession. etc.)
  • Number students one and two. (#1 gets the ball, #2 lines up)
  • Use grids or lines on the field to organize where the students should start.
  • As students progress the teacher should extend the drill.
