Zig Zag Drill

Tactical Problem: Prevent opponent from invading territory and angling opponent to sidelines
Skill development:  TSWBAT understand and apply proper defensive stance and glide.
                             TSWBAT exhibit active hands and feet, as well as a low body position.
                             TSWBAT  display knowledge of on and off the ball movements and
                             demonstrate knowledge of effective footwork to play proper defence


Teaching Points:
1.  Drop step and push.
2.  Stay low, head up, wide stance.
3.  Active hands and feet.

1. Divide gym into 3 channels.
2. Class is broken into 2 groups.
3.  Groups start adjacent to each other on opposite ends of the gym.
4.  In pairs, students zigzag across the gym within their channels.  1 person defends while the other person dribbles.
