Organizational Strategies (Time Savers)
The Use of space:
-
Students are broken into smaller groups (of two to eight), so as to allow
good use of the space in the tennis bubble. This way, the students
each have ample time on task.
-
All four of the tennis courts were used at a time.
-
When circulating to give feedback to the students, one teacher took responsibility
of two courts, and the other teacher took the two other courts.
Equipment Procedures:
-
When students were arranged in partnerships, in order to save time, they
were given specific details about who was responsible for what. For
example, the teachers would say: "number yourselves 1 and 2. 1's
go get a tennis ball, and a skipping rope, and 2's go get an area in the
bubble for you and your partner to play.
