Simplification:
Pass with a whiffle ball if they are having trouble with lacrosse balls. If they have trouble passing to a partner (directing their passes at all) you could simplify by having them pass a handball to eachother by hand.
Extension:
Change the type of sending/receiving they are performing, high vs low pass, catch vs scoop

Aim: To move to the open space while receiving a pass.
Rules:
1.Scoring: Passers score by completing ‘x’ amount of passes in a row, the Defender scores by intercepting/stopping a pass.
2.Start by having one of the Passers pass the ball, restart in the same way.
3.The ball is out of play if it leaves the playing area or if a point is scored.

If the Defender is beating the Passers:
Decrease the amount of passes that have to be made to score
Increase the amount of interceptions the Defender must make to score
Limit the defender - ie. The Defender cannot attack the stick
If the Passers are beating the Defender:
Increase the amount of passes that have to be made to score
Decrease the amount of interceptions the Defender must make to score
Limit the Passers - ie. The Defender can attack the stick or the Passers must pass within ‘x’
amount of time.
Aim: To complete passes without being intercepted by the defender.

Game Description: Players stand on the corners of a grid and pass the object to eachother.
Set-up: Set-up a grid (shape is variable but most often a square) with at least one less player than there are corners (3 players for a square) . All players have lacrosse sticks, only one ball.
