This website, designed by Michael Loomer and Kevin Swaney, was created with the goal of providing 4 lesson plans which can be used as ideas for fun effective ways to teach the skills and tactical strategies of floor hockey.  Our entire website is based around the teaching games for understanding model (see rationale).  After teaching a Grade 8 class at Arbutus Middle School we have adapted some of our ideas based on the skill and tactical awareness that we saw from the students, and have put together what we believe is a very useful sequence of lessons which focuses primarily on the tactical strategies of the game.   We hope that this website can be a valuable resource to educators in the future. Eventually the goal is that more teachers will benefit from Dr. Hopper’s website and they will see how effective the TGfU model can be (see TGfU).  The net result will be seeing TGfU implemented by more and more educators in the future, potentially leading to an entire curriculum overhaul of the way Physical Education is taught in British Columbia.
