THEME: Guarding
 
 

OBJECTIVE
Make up a game in which a bat-person hits a ball from a ‘T’-stand or cone past a fielder who is guarding a goal marked by two cones.

YOU NEED:
        • Two players
        • Two cones and a ‘T’-stand (or medium size cone)
        • A bat and five balls
        • Two crates to put the balls in
        • An area to hit into that will not affect other games (see
        below)

Whack Ball

DECIDE:
• The number of goes a batter gets before swapping with the fielder
• Points scored for getting the ball past the fielder after one, two or three bounces
• Points lost for fielder catching the ball

Make up a game in which four players keep a ball in the air and try to stop it landing on the floor in their play space.

GAME MUST INVOLVE:
        • The object must be hit or thrown upwards.

YOU NEED:
        • Two or three players (“P” on diagram)
        • Eight cones or markers.
        • A ball, ring or birdie
        • Optional - two scoops, bats or racquets
        • An area to throw into that will not affect other games

Make up a game in which one player sends the object past the other player in order to hit the other players bench to score or go between two pylons to score.

YOU NEED:
        • Two players
        • An object - ball, quoit, bean-bag, etc.
        • Two benches

Bench DEFEND

DECIDE: 
        • How far apart the benches will be, or how far apart the pylons.
        • How to start and restart after a goal is scored
        • How many goals to win a game
        • How you are allowed to send the object

Make up a game in which players alternate to keep an object up in the air without letting the object touch the ground in their shared play space.

THE GAME MUST INVOLVE:
        • The object being hit or thrown above head height.

YOU NEED:
        • Two or three players
        • An object - ball, quoit, bean-bag, etc.
        • A defined space

DECIDE:
• How far apart the cones are
• How to start and restart after a point is scored
• How many points to win a game
• How you are allowed to send the object

OBJECTIVE

Make up a game in which players alternate in sending a ball against a wall and into a shared playing area. Each player tries to make the ball bounce so that the other player(s) cannot return it.

THE GAME MUST INVOLVE:
    • The ball must be hit or thrown upwards
    • The ball can only bounce once.

YOU NEED:
        • Two or three players (“P” on diagram)
        • Two cones or markers
        • Two benches
        • A wall space
        • A ball
        • Optional - two scoops, bats or racquets
        • An area to throw into that will not affect other games
