Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive: Understand thought process of
passing and movement – why we do it?
Psychomotor: How to pass, why we pass, distribution time and effects on success.
Affective: Allow them to set up and clean up, more responsibility, individuals who are more talented take a leadership role (demos) and teaching passing biomechanics.
Social: Team bonding, unity, classroom cooperation, support and acceptance of different abilities.
Introductory Activities: Passing Grid
30x25 grid – pass ball in square, 2 balls per team, trying to trying to keep ball from other teams while not bumping into others
Key points: Head up, accelerate and move into space
Points: 5 consecutive passes = 2 points or knock other teams ball away = 1 point per ball
Rules: kicked out balls must stay in secondary grid (stresses controlled passing and decreases time spent on retrieving ball)
Progressions/modifications: increase or decrease playing grid accordingly
Skill Development/Concept: Partner Passing
Pass with partner in grid (30 x 30) while moving and not bumping into others
4 quadrants in grid – must make a pass in all 4 quadrants count how many points – 1 point = 1 pass in quadrant
Key points: head up, accelerate into space, use partner’s name
Progressions: decrease number of touches

Culminating Activity End line Invasion
6v6 – invade opponents area by passing and moving into space
Rules: no dribbling, no tackling once person has ball, ball must be stopped in end zone and if goal successful passers switch and side switch
Progressions: allow dribble, allow tackling, after 3 goals reduce end-line
