Class Management

Managerial Routines

The following management routines come as a result of our own personal experiences as well as the routines that were already in place in the classroom that we taught in. When possible we want to allow our students freedom in some decisions while keeping in mind some order is needed for practical reasons. As result, we hope to have struck a balance in their routines to make the class both enjoyable and efficient.

Equipment

- Students were expected to help bring the equipment from the t equipment room to the field.

- Students keep the balls still while instruction is being given.

- Students return all equipment to its proper place at the end of class.

- Equipment is used for its intended purpose

Procedures

- Students are changed for class. If necessary they may borrow a strip from the teacher.

- Students should be change and ready to participate within five of the beginning of the class

- The class meets just outside the gym near the equipment room before going outdoors for class

Classroom Rules

- When instruction is being given, students are quiet and stop using equipment

- Everyone must be in an appropriate gym strip

- Everyone must show respect to each other

- Obtain permission from the teacher to use the washroom or get a drink

- Assist the teacher in transportation of equipment

Groupings and Partner Systems

- To obtain fairly equal team, students were randomly numbered from 1 to 4

- Have students pair up with partners of equal ability. Have these students now be on opposite teams

- If issues with groupings occur, players may need to be “traded”.

- When doing partner based activities, students can choose their own pairings.
