THE SET (OVERHEAD PASS)

 
 


1. Preparatory Movements

•Move to ball and plant feet

•Feet shoulder width apart 

•Knees bent over toes

•Arms raised over head, nearly fully extended


2. Wind-up Phase/ Receiving Ball

•All 10 fingers curve around surface of ball

•Bend knees

•Hands receive ball overhead

•Bend elbows to absorb impact of ball


3. Force Phase/ Sending Ball:

•Keep ball in front of body

•Extend knees, elbows & ankles while releasing ball


4. Follow-Through:

•Arms, knees & fingers finish fully extended

•Feet, hips & shoulders facing direction of pass

•Return to base stance
