End Ball
Aim: Score by passing to goal-taker over line marked by pylons.
Purpose: Teach students how to move into open space in order to receive the ball and pass to open players. This will allow them to invade the opponents territory.
Rules:
1)Cannot move with ball (3 steps with ball).
2)One defender must go to ball but cannot check only intercept a pass.
3)No defender allowed in end zone.
4)Exchange with goal-taker when score, and scoring team must retreat to half-way line.
5)Only allowed to hold the ball for 5 seconds.
Modifications:
- Can change the number of steps allowed.
- Can change the number of players involved in the game, for example, can make it 5 vs 5 or you can exaggerate the game by making it 5 vs 3.
- Can implement at automatic 5 pass rule before a team can score
- Can manipulate the boundaries of the game; making it smaller or bigger.
- Can manipulate the object used play.
-When student’s become familiar with the game and lacrosse skills; it can be played with lacrosse equipment.
