Full Lacrosse Game
Full Lacrosse Game
Purpose: Fun and enjoyable culminating activity, which will provide a basic understanding of what the final product of lacrosse should be like. It will also allow students to use and develop all their lacrosse skills learnt from previous lessons.
Rules:
1)Indoor lacrosse: have a 5 vs 5 game with nets and goaltenders
2)Outdoor lacrosse: 10 vs 10 game with nets and goaltenders
3)Attempt to replicate the actual size of a normal lacrosse field or rink.
4)Have a 30 to 60 second time limit for possession.
5)Not allowed to goal into the crease except for the goaltender.
6)Score Rule: shoot into the net.
7)Start Rule: lacrosse face off.
8)Restart Rule: Lacrosse throw in from the side.
9)Safety Rule: no cross checking or hitting bodies.
Modifications:
- It may be difficult to actually play a 10 vs 10 game, especially with a gr. 8 class, so you can change the number of players on each team.
- Can change the boundaries.
- Can change the size of the net.
- Can still implement a minimum amount passes needed to be made before a team can score.
*However, try to make the game mirror a normal lacrosse game as much as possible even though there will be different problems to deal with. Thus, only make changes that you see fit.
