Roman’s Gate
Purpose: Introduces territory and invasion concepts, so students will begin to understand when and where to move in space.
Rules:
1)In the first zone there are 2 gates set-up with one person tagging.
2)In the second zone there are 3 gates set-up with two people tagging.
3)In the third and final zone there are 4 gates set-up with three people tagging.
4)In the first two zones there are safe zones set-up in the entrance of the gates.
5)No one can be tagged in a safety zone, however if someone leaves the safety zone they can no longer go back into the safety zone.
6)If a person is tagged, they must go back to the start and try to get through the gates again.
7)If a person makes it through all the gates without being tagged he/she will earn a point for their respective team and then he/she must proceed to the start and try to get through the gates again.
Modifications:
- The gates can be modified smaller or bigger in order to change the difficulty of the game.
- Another zone could be added for an extra challenge.
- This game could be executed at a walking pace, jogging pace, or up to full speed depending
on students abilities, fitness level, and understanding.
