Sequence for the games in the unit:


Lesson 1: Getting used to lacrosse skills, and learning how to cradle and scoop.

- Roman Gates - dodging, deeking, and running.

- Relay Race - cradling the ball and running with it, and passing.

- Rob the Nest Game - scooping up the ball, running and cradling all together in one game.


Lesson 2:  Learning how to pass and receive.

        - Zig Zag Race - moving, carrying, scooping and teamwork.

        - Passing with a partner - catching and receiving.

        - Passing and moving - catching while moving and passing while moving.

        - End ball - move into open space in order to receive the ball and pass to open players.


Lesson 3: Building on passing and receiving skills and off the ball movements. Also learning how                

                 to shoot.

        - Zig Zag Passing - passing, catching, quickness and teamwork.

        - Scoop and shoot - shooting and moving.

        - Mini lacrosse game - include all the skills of lacrosse.



Lesson 4: Learning how to play defense

        - Follow the Leader - defending, following a target.

        - Lane Way Defense - defending space and guarding

        - Competitive Ground-balls with a Shot - defending space, scooping and shooting.

        - Full Lacrosse Game - include all the skills of lacrosse.



Entry Ability:


- TSWBAT scoop the ball up and throw it at a target five times in a row.

- TSWBAT demonstrate movement skills on the field. ( move to the ball)

- TSWBAT catch the ball sometimes.

- TSWBAT understand the basic principles of the game.   

- TSWBAT work in groups towards a common goal.


Exit Ability: TSWBAT - The Students Will Be Able To


Psychomotor:


TSWBAT consistently scoop the ball up and throw it accurately at a target in a game situation. (to a player or goal)                             

- TSWBAT demonstrate movement skills on the field. (get to the ball, to open space for a pass, or to create space so others can shoot)

- TSWBAT catch the ball most of the time while playing.


Affective/Social:


- TSWBAT show respect for other peers and the teachers.

- TSWBAT work cooperatively in a team situation.

- TSWBAT listen to teachers and follow instructions.


Cognitive:


- TSWBAT understand some of the tactical aspects of the game.

- TSWBAT identify lacrosse equipment and how it should be used.

- TSWBAT know the rules of a lacrosse as well as rules for some mini games.
