SCOPE


Entry ability: Students are able to:

-Move around the court

-play a 1 on 1 game semi-successfully

-Participate in pairs or groups

-Define the court boundaries

-Contact the birdie

-Understand the basic rules of the game

-Have control over basic body movements required for the sport




Exit ability: TSWBAT


Cognitive:

- Answer questions about court movement (eg: where should you go after you hit the birdie?)

- List the three teaching points for both forehand and backhand shots


Affective:

- Determine their individual success rate and adjust the difficulty of the activity accordingly (eg: change the size of the court)

- Experience an improvement of their score as they progress through the forehand and backhand games

- Feel like a valuable and important member of a team and find personal success in the games


Psychomotor:

- Move around the court efficiently and use proper shot technique (forehand, backhand, and net shots)

- Hit a birdie over the net 6 out of 10 times (with both forehand and backhand)

  1. -Serve the birdie over the net into the correct square 6 out of 10 times

  2. -Play a half court game to 5 against an opponent


Social:

- Work together in pairs both competitively and as a team vs. the rest of the class.

- Provide positive, constructive feedback regarding their partners forehand technique

- Working as a team in the tournament by cheering on teammates and keeping track on the scoresheet
