Passing in Pairs
Tactical Problem: Making an accurate pass to a partner and properly receiving the return pass Skill development: Using the instep to pass the ball, hitting a target.  Receiving the ball using the foot as a cushion
Teaching Points: 

Tactic:

  • Keep the ball on the ground for short passes
  • Make firm contact with the ball to make it a crisp pass

Skill:

  • Follow through with passing foot
  • Plant off foot beside the ball
  • Use foot as a cushion to receive
  • Hitting the target given by partner

Organizational Points: 
  • Partner up and line up across from one another, insuring adequate space between groups

Simplifications:

  • Move partners closer together

Extensions:

  • Move partners farther apart
  • Add a passive defender to make one dribble to the side and pass on the move
