Gender, Identity and Film

Examines representations of women and by women, in a variety of film forms (experimental, documentary, narrative) and within a range of historical periods. Emphasis is placed on feminist theories of representation, visual pleasure, spectatorship and subjectivity and on analyses of key films.

Note:

  • Credit will be granted for only one of AHVS 312, HA 312.

Undergraduate course in Art History and Visual Studies offered by the Department of Art History and Visual Studies in the Faculty of Fine Arts.
