Sex and Power in American History

Surveys the use of sex as symbol and means of constructing power in American history from the 1500s to the present day. Topics include conquest, slavery and race, religion, commercial sex, gay rights and transgender.

Note:

  • Credit will be granted for only one of HSTR 306, HIST 318 (if taken as section A03 in Sep-Dec 2012).

Undergraduate course in History offered by the Department of History in the Faculty of Humanities.
