Japanese literature from the Meiji Restoration to the present day in English translation. Focuses on thematic and stylistic developments of various genres of Japanese literature.

Note:

  • Credit will be granted for only one of PAAS 388, JAPA 303, JAPA 303A, JAPA 303B.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum second-year standing; and
  • Academic Writing Requirement satisfied; or
  • permission of the department.

Undergraduate course in Pacific and Asian Studies offered by the Department of Pacific and Asian Studies in the Faculty of Humanities.
