PHYS 216

Introductory Electricity and Magnetism

Units: 1.5

Hours: 3-3-1

Electric and magnetic fields, Gauss' law, electric potential, capacitance, dieletrics, current and resistance, resistivity, magnetic inductance. Faraday's law of induction, Ampere's law, energy stored in electric and magnetic fields.

Notes:

  • Credit will be granted for only one of PHYS 216, ECE 216, ELEC 216.
  • Registration priority may be given to students declared in an Honours, Major, or Combined program offered by the Department.

Undergraduate course in Physics offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science.
