Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering offers graduate programs leading to the degrees Master of Applied Science (MASc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Its four research themes are: Green Structures & Materials; Industrial Ecology; Smart Buildings, Infrastructure & Cities; and Sustainable Water. MASc and PhD students are normally provided with financial support from different sources (teaching assistantships, University of Victoria Fellowships and Graduate Awards, research grant support, and research contracts). Students are typically expected to hold two Teaching Assistant positions each year.
