Focuses on political, social and cultural developments in both German states from 1945 to the present. Particular attention is given to the country's post-war occupation, the division and unification in 1990, the turbulent 1960s, as well as Germany's position in an integrating Europe and its response to the 'refugee crisis'.


  • Credit will be granted for only one of HSTR 350C, HIST 378, HIST 388 (if taken in the same topic).
