ICMC 2001

Vote for your Workshop...

For this ICMC we have in mind different options for workshops, but we want to ask you which one you would like to attend.
Based on the result of this vote we will organize the two that will receive more votes.
(we didn't set a specific deadline for this vote, but we'll take a decision by the end of March...so there is a deadline...)
This is in alphabetic order, there isn't a order of preference.
Short description:
  1. Afro Cuban music/drumming workshop... There will be a theory session and a practical session with Cuban percussion players
  2. Collaborative Composition for String Instruments and Live Electronics (Hugh Livingston, cello). This will cover relations between composers and players in the process of writing music for electronics and traditional instruments
  3. Jmax is the IRCAM Max/Msp that uses Java. It runs on Linux and SGI, it is a free open source software
  4. Linux and multimedia. Even if Linux is now very strong in the multimedia field, often is not that easy to get the best set up for running and compiling multimedia software or drivers. This workshop will cover these issues. [ The DeMuDi team (DEbian MUltimedia DIstribution) will present at this ICMC the first multimedia distribution for Linux ]
  5. Workshop on Max/MSP,commercially developed by David Ziccarelli for Apple computers.
  6. PD, a freely downloadable version of Max/Msp developed by Miller Puckette, available for Linux, Sgi and windows.Combined with GEM is a powerful tool for real time audio and graphic manipulation
