NOTES ON THE FINAL EXAM FOR MU319

This exam will be part listening and part writing. You should be prepared for both.

LISTENING MATERIALS--CD's to focus on in library for listening segment:

1. Afro-Cuba
Know what every track is, and be able to recognize it by listening. Also read the liner notes that come with the CD. On reserve in the library.

2. The Cuban Danzón-Its Ancestors and Descendents
Know this one also, and read the liner notes (the liner notes are ONLINE, and there is also a CD of the audio on reserve). Know all the tracks on Side A, on Side B only Angoa. If you just want to listen to short excerpts (probably sufficient for studying), you can CLICK HERE to go to the Smithsonian entry.

3. Cuba, I am Time
Read the booklet that comes with this 4-CD box set (optional). This boxed set is in the library.

READING MATERIALS:
