Daryl Rock
Daryl Rock is the Associate Director for Knowledge Exchange at the Canadian Council on Learning (CCL) where he has responsibility for developing and implementing national KE programs across the range of CCL activities as well as providing strategic support to the CCL’s five knowledge centres. He comes to CCL from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) where he spent three years as the Director of Strategic Programs. In this role he was responsible for managing the majority of SSHRC’s applied research programs. He was also responsible for developing and launching a series of new strategic research programs including one that addresses priority issues of northern Canada and another that addresses issues relevant to Canada’s Aboriginal peoples. Prior to joining SSHRC Daryl was manager of HRDC’s Labour Market Information Services developing and implementing a pan-Canadian service delivery framework.
Daryl has spent most of his career designing and managing national programs in the areas of research and development, knowledge exchange and community development. He has extensive skills in program design, evaluation, partnership development, peer adjudication, strategic planning and knowledge exchange. Daryl is the President of Freedom at Depth Canada, a national scuba diving training organization and past Chair of the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation. Born in Halifax, he has a BA in Political Science and an MA in Public Administration from Carleton University and a Cegep certificate in Engineering from the College Militaire Royale de St-Jean.
