Lucas was born in Lake Country, BC and came to the University of Victoria in 2015 to pursue his undergraduate degree in chemistry. He is currently in the final semester of his BSc Honours chemistry degree, having completed his Honours research project with Matthew Moffitt (Uvic, Canada) in encapsulation and delivery of DNA using block copolymer micelles. Lucas has recently returned from 7 months in Japan as a research intern at Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd, and is now working on self-assembly of π-conjugated polymers with the Manners Group. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, studying foreign languages, and traveling.
