New Orleans - Memories of the Old South

While at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association, I went for walks always having my small Olympus Stylus 1030 in my pockets. I took this street scene, which exhibits a bit of sadness and it made me think about what the Old South must have been. And I was thinking about the many trips I had taken through rural Mississippi during the 1980s when I did my PhD at the University of Southern Mississippi. At that time, segregation could still be encountered at every street corner.
