Twelfth Day – Some Rain, Some Sun: and First Foraging

The forecast was for rain. Once again, Victoria weather. When I checked the hive, I saw activity. The temperature was only 9.7 °.

When I looked closer I saw some bees with clear pollen bags on their hind leg. Clearly, they had started gathering food on their own. But as yesterday, no bee in the heather right behind the hives. I could not see where they were flying.

Later that day, just before Sylvie and I went for a walk, I found bees foraging in the heather in front of our house. There is quite a lot of heather.

I took some close up pictures. One can see the pollen on the leg.

Another bee, foraging upside down.
