Preparatory Position
- put birdie in non-racquet hand at the height of the racquet
head
- racquet foot forward just behind the service line
- knees slightly bent
- racquet elbow high and out

Wind-Up Phase
- bring wrist and racquet head back
- keep eye on birdie

Force Producing/Contact Phase
- release the birdie and snap the racquet with your wrist
- serve to the area at the body where the opponent has to
decide whether they must hit a forehand or backhand
- serve wide
- serve flat, by making contact with the birdie as high as
possible
- aim for the top of the net

Follow Through
- continue the natural motion
- return to the middle of the court in anticipation of the
return shot
