Entry
Level and Exit Outcomes
It will be assumed when teaching this golf
unit that the students entering the class will be able to draw on previous
experience in knowing the basic rules of golf.
This would include general rules of game play, such as where to tee-off
from, score keeping, and play rotation. The
students may be somewhat limited in, quite simply, how to get the ball into the
hole with as few strokes as possible. These limitations would arise from a lack of understanding in
swing mechanics, ball placement, and shot consistency, which will be worked on
in the unit.
Once completed, the course will improve the
students’ abilities in swing development and mechanics such that they can
correct their own swing as well as that of others.
They will also gain knowledge of golf play tactics and strategies of
various situations that one may encounter on a real course.
The unit also has the intention of refreshing and improving the
students’ knowledge of golf etiquette and sportsman like play while on the
course.
