This web site contains examples of 19 four-lesson unit plans for teaching games.  Each unit plan contains a scope, content analysis, and block plan with links to Task/Game analysis sheets, assessment ideas, managerial routines & organization time savers and additional materials.  The unit plans have been constructed by students in the School of Physical Education, University of Victoria course PE452 - Instructional techniques and strategies for team activities.  Content within the unit plans has been broken down progressively for tactical understanding and skill development drawing on Hopper (1998) principles of play and Griffin, Mitchell & Oslin (1997) break down of tactics and skills into off-the-ball movements and on-the-ball skills.
Based on the British Columbia PE Integrated Resources Pack (curriculum) the unit plans have been divided into net/wall games and invasion games.  All the students planned the units and taught three lessons in local schools to try out and refine their ideas.  The following units are the results of their work.
