5 vs. 5 Shooting Game Advancing to Mini Soccer Game
Tactical Problem: Using open space and teammates to earn an accurate attempt at shooing the ball through the goal

  • Make cuts to the middle to get a good shot
  • Take ball into 20 yard zone and look for cutters
  • find open field to support the ball, and maintain possession

Organizational Points:
  • 1/2 field with 3/4 size goal with no goalie.  Pylons will mark the 20 yard line on each end.  Shots must be taken outside this line.  Defenders can not go in the 20 yard box.  The ball is put back into play by a pass.

Simplifications:

  • Move the 20 yard line closer
  • Play 5 on 4 in one direction only

Extensions:

  • Add goalies
  • Defenders can enter the 20 yard box
  • Progress to no 20 yard line and play an actual game of soccer
