360-Rugby
Tactical Problem:  Moving to open space to receive a pass in order to progress the ball towards one of four in-goal areas.  Defending as a team.
Skill development:  Moving off the ball to get open and successfully completing consecutive passes.   Touching the ball down to score.


 
Teaching Points:

Tactic

  • Do not stand still if you do not have the ball in your hands...move to open space 
  • Fake your defender 
Skill
  • Apply downward pressure on the ball over the line to score
  • Reach, Catch, Sweep
 
Description:

Start :  The ball is placed in the middle of the playing area and the teams race to pick it up.

Score:  Teams must complete a certain number of passes before scoring in any of the four goals

Prevent Score:  Turnovers occur when the defending team intercepts the ball, causes an incomplete pass or the offensive team goes out of bounds with the ball.

Organizational Points:
  •  Grids of about 15 x 15 meters with two teams of about four to five players are set-up.
  • On each of the boundary lines there is 1 meter goal area.
