3 on 3 Half-court: Task Outline
Tactical Problem: Maintaining possession and invading opponents territory with varying environment (3 defenders/2 teamates)
Skill focus: Dribbling and passing effectively in a game situation
Teaching Points:
  • Keep head up while dribbling
  • Dribble to basket when open space is available
  • Communication amongst teammates
Organizational Points:
  • three teams of 3 per hoop
  • after a basket or defense winning the ball, rotate teams
  • defense goes to offense, subs go to defense, offense goes off
  • must pass 3 times before team can shoot
  • each team keeps score, 5 points wins game
