Tactical Problem: Making defensive decisions based on external environment (teacher commands).
Skill focus: Defensive positioning of the body while moving.
Teaching Points:
  • knees bent
  • see the ball at all times
  • active feet and hands
Organizational Points:
  • entire class spread out on gym floor and facing teacher
  • teacher points one way, class moves that way in a defensive shuffle position
  • teacher makes passing motion, class mimics blocking ball with their hand
  • teacher makes shooting motion, class steps up, stands tall, and puts arms up
  • can get students to lead class
