End Zone Dribble (1&2)

Tactical Problem: Keeping Possession of the ball
Skill development: Scoring by dribbling with pressure from a defender

Teaching Points: 

Tactic: On the ball (Team with the ball)

  •      Move into space to look for a pass

Off the ball (Defending Team)

  •     Stay between player and endline
  •     defending a space or area
Skill: 
  • Dribbling with head up in order to see open space or another player open for a pass.
 

 
 

 

Organizational Points: 
  •  Two teams of 3 or 4 students each
  •  Playing area that consists of two end zones for each team to attack and defend
  • When defending, players must stay at least arms distance away from the opposing player
  • Teams can score a point by dribbling the ball across their opponent's endzone


Extensions/Modifications: 

  •  Teams must complete at least 2 passes before being able to score
  • Every player on the team must touch the ball once before being allowed to score


Simplifications:

  •  Make a larger playing area
