Organizational
Strategies
1)
Equipment
-
all balls
not being used are to be kept contained in a proper area (ie. bin, hula
hoop)
-
equipment
that is used is set out to match students' skill level ( ie. beach ball,
larger target area)
-
students are
assigned numbers when in groups to delegate who gets and puts away what
equipment (ie. 1's get ball, 2's find open space)
2)
Teaching Space
-
use as much
of the gym as possible
-
make sure
teacher can supervise and see all the space students are participating
in
-
make the space
student are performing in is safe (water, over hanging obstructions)
-
teacher should
be close enough to provide constant feedback to most of the groups
at all times
3) #
of player
-
try to minimize
the size of groups to increase the amount of on the ball skills (forearm
passes, volley)
4) Time
management
-
always talk
to group so teacher is facing any possible distractions
-
demo the drill
while you explain it
-
increase the
amount of activity time in class by decreasing the amount of talking time
( PE is active )
-
students are
assigned numbers when in groups to delegate who gets and puts away what
equipment (ie. 1's get ball, 2's find open space)will stop confusion in
class
