Free Ball Transition Game

Organizational Points
  • Groups of 3 on a half court
  • 3 vs 3 game
  • Start with one passer off the net and a setter and hitter at the net
  • Rule 1- 3 hits, no attacking allowed
  • Rule 2- score points normally
  • Rule 3- extra point for a pass, set, hit combination
  • Rule 4- initiate with a free ball or underhand serve
  • Rotate normally

  • Q.  What does the hitter do when there is a free ball?
  • A.  Turn and move off the net to a passing position.
  • Q.  What does the setter do when there is a free ball?
  • A.  Turn and open up to the passers.
