Activity: Rules:
- no serve, ball tossed into play
- ball must be touched 3 times before it can be passed over the net.
- no jump attacks
- no points; continuous play is encouraged
Teaching Points:
Forearm pass:
- Strong base: legs shoulder width apart, knees bent, weight on
the front of the feet.
- Solid platform: hands together, elbows turned together, minimal
gap between arms.
- At contact don't swing with the arms; "accuracy over power".
- Initiate pass with the legs, pushing up through the arms.
Overhead pass (Set):
- Form a triangle between the thumbs and index fingers.
- Contact with the ball should occur directly above the head.
- Arms should be extended all the way above the head; follow through is
very important.
