1. The Low Basic Serve:

2. The High Deep Serve:

Swing the racquet down from the ready position under the birdie
for contact and up

Follow through in the intended direction of the birdie

Forces the receiver to do an overhead clear

Takes power and strength to execute
Technique Cues:

Racket held back

Weight transfer to racquet foot

3. The Flick Serve:
-
Similar to the low serve but at the last possible second,
the server snaps wrist
-
Opponent anticipates a low serve and will rush to the
net, the flick will then go over their head
Technique Cues:
-
Feet shoulder width apart
-
Sudden flick of the wrist
-
Short follow through
4. The Backhand Serve:
-
Stand square to the net with feet side by side or racquet
foot slightly forward
-
Using the backhand grip, shortened for more control,
hold the racquet below waist

Hold birdie at the tip with the base pointed toward
the racquet

Hit the birdie towards opponent's short service line
-
If the opponent rushes the net, flick the backhand
-
Birdie is hit from the front of the body and takes little
time to get to its destination

Shuttle is hard to see against server's clothes
