Racquet foot should always be forward on forehand and backhand in the lunge
position

Always return to the recovery position.
Upper Body Technique:

Lunge position with racquet outstretched

Racquet face parallel to the floor level with the top of the net

Soft jab motion
Preparation:

Forehand or backhand grip

Body Position

Racquet held at side and front of the body
Contact:

As racquet foot lands forward, arm extends and hits shuttle

No swinging motion as you "Hit and Land"

Angle racquet face just before contact with the shuttle

Forehand shot: Palm facing the ceiling

Backhand shot: Back hand facing the ceiling

Contact the shuttle close to the top of the net

Contact the shuttle in front of the body

Contact the shuttle on racquet side of body: Forehand

Contact the shuttle on non - racquet side of body: Backhand
Recovery:

Push back with racquet foot towards center of the court

Assume the ready position

Shuttle should tumble over the net
