TOUCH RUGBY

Aim of game: Invasion sport of rugby. Objective is to invade the opponents end via attack and forward ball movement through lateral or backward passes in order to score a point (try).

Rules:

1.Lateral and backward passes only.

2.You can run until you get tagged, yet once tagged game must be restarted via backward pass by another player on the attacking team.

3.Possession changes hands on a forward pass, dropped ball or a score.

Awareness
: Tactical awareness involves three components each of which are crucial for the progression and development of skills and games. These three components are: Space, Time and Force.

SPACE: Where should a player move to create open space? Where should a pass be made to help open up the playing field? Where should players move after they receive a pass to help create open space?

TIME: When should passes be made? When should a player run with the ball and when should a player pass the ball? When to attack and when to defend?

FORCE: How hard should a pass be in correspondence to player distance? Where should the force be applied to propel the ball in the correct direction?
