OFF BALL SKILLS

Off ball player movement primarily creates space. Having your students or players work on this tactic can help to improve upon students offensive abilities. Additionally, off ball movement encourages cognitive decision making, which will later help students to make specific decisions in specific situations. For example, students will be aware of where to go on the field and when to go there. Metzler (2005) mentions off ball movements improve tactical awareness, while Griffen et al. (1997) mention that off ball movements can help student to solve problems that deal with scoring and preventing scoring.
