CONTENT ANALYSIS



Tactical problems are divided into Offensive Concepts, Defensive Concepts and Transitional Concepts. Offensive concepts imply that your team has control over the ball and is making a play to score.  Defensive concepts imply that your team does not have the ball and is in a defensive situation preventing a score from being made. Transitional concepts refer to the situation going from offense to defense and visa versa where as a player you have to prepare to shift from one to the other. Off-the ball movements are movements used when you are off the ball based on the circumstance your team is in (ie Offense, Defense or Transition). On-the-ball skills are skills used while you have possession of the ball based and  are based on the circumstance your team is in (ie Offense, Defense or Transition).

 



                               
Based on the BC IRP the content of the unit also includes personal and social responsibility objectives.  For this age of students the following content will be developed throughout the course:

These objectives will be obtained by the students being actively involved throughout the unit in the following ways:
Gathering and Distribution of Materials and Equipment
Forming Pairs, Groups and Teams
Playing in Pairs, Groups and Teams
Partaking in personal and peer assessment
Asking and answering questions
Following the rules and guidelines which contribute to fair play
